DB Ghost Packager Plus: a walk through
The first step in the “Packaging” wizard is the selection of the source database. The source database can be derived in a number of ways. A physical database can be used by connecting to the applicable instance of SQL Server, or alternatively the scripts can be sourced from a Software Configuration Management tool, or the file system.
The last two options can be used in situations where the delta script has been identified and produced by the DB Ghost Schema Compare software. There is also an option to use custom developed scripts.
For the purposes of this tutorial we shall select the third option, “Scripts in the file system”. This allows us to use the scripts being managed by Seapine’s Surround SCM tool.

The source scripts must be located and the appropriate database objects selected. Note that both database objects and static data can be included.

The next step in the process allows the execution of custom scripts against the source database after it has been built. This enables you to make changes to the source database for special conditions.
