Metis Collection

Metis Collection provides the automated and agentless ETL (Extract Transform Load) operations on the various silos of IT information. It provides the security, auditing, notifications, and job management facilities necessary to support the ETL processing. As with any robust ETL system, Metis Collection supports rules-based data validation, precedence enforcement, and standard and custom data transformations. The ETL architecture allows custom business logic plug-ins to be added to the processing flow to enable custom filtering, data integrity checks, and reporting/notifications resulting from the ETL processing.

The Metis Collection framework provides a set of facilities to extract from industry standard source sources (JDBC, Excel, XML, LDAP). These extract capabilities are used to build jobs that are customised to extract from a specific source (e.g. SMS database) and stage the source data in a canonical format for subsequent transform and load processing. This format is named Troux Upload XML --- TUX. A development kit enables the creation of new source format extractions.

The TUX format is processed by the framework’s ETL job processing stream to perform the MDR transform function in order to determine what transactions need to be applied during the load  processing. This insures that the load job handles the minimum set of transaction and thereby minimises the window for MDR changes.

Metis Team Server is an XML-based repository system that enables workgroup collaboration, version control and model security with capabilities for storing completed models or models that are to be shared for updating. It supports the rigorous security requirements of corporate and government IT organisations by providing powerful control features for user access, model versioning, and develop-review-publish cycles.

For the user community it provides secure access for sharing models over the company intranet or the Internet.
